Hong Kong dollar interbank offered rates (HIBOR) showed a mixed performance on August 21, with most tenors declining while the one-month rate, closely linked to mortgage pricing, inched higher.
The one-month HIBOR rose 0.577 basis points to 2.68577%. In contrast, the three-month rate, which serves as a key indicator of bank funding costs, slipped 0.946 basis points to 2.93506%.
The overnight rate fell sharply by 21.440 basis points to 2.67750%. Meanwhile, the one-week rate dropped 7.589 basis points to 2.65524%, and the two-week rate declined 6.167 basis points to 2.65452%.
The two-month tenor edged down 0.071 basis points to 2.83649%. On the longer end of the curve, the six-month rate held steady at 3.20000%, while the one-year rate remained unchanged at 3.50000%.
